Renting a Motorcycle in Sardinia: The Practical Guide
Fly in or ship your own bike? Which licence, which machine, what it costs and when to go — everything worth knowing before you rent a motorcycle in Sardinia.

Sardinia has some of the best riding roads in Europe and almost no traffic outside August. The question most riders ask us is simple: bring my own bike, or rent one on the island? Here is the honest answer.
Ferry with your own bike vs. fly and rent
The ferry from Genoa, Livorno or Civitavecchia works, but it costs two travel days, a cabin and a lot of motorway before you even reach the port. For a trip of a week or less, flying into Olbia or Alghero and renting a bike is usually cheaper and always more relaxed — you arrive fresh, and your holiday starts on the first corner, not the first toll booth.
Which licence do I need?
Most of our fleet needs a full A licence. Bring the physical licence and an ID card or passport. If you hold an A2 licence, ask us before booking — we will tell you honestly which machines fit.
Which bike for which road
For mixed roads and white gravel tracks, the Fantic Caballero 500 Rally and Scrambler are the most fun you can have on the island. For long, flowing coast roads, the Triumph Bonneville T100, Thruxton or Bobber. For riders who want power and sharp handling, the Indian FTR. Every bike comes checked, fuelled and with a helmet available.
What it costs
Our bikes start from 110 € per day, and the daily rate drops for longer rentals. If you want the whole thing arranged — bike, airport transfer and a room with breakfast — our Fly & Ride packages bundle it at a lower daily price.
When to go
May, June, September and October are the sweet spot: warm, dry, empty roads. July is hot but rideable early and late in the day. August is crowded on the coasts. Winter is mild, but some inland passes get cold and wet.
Where to start
We are based near Valledoria on the Gulf of Asinara, in the quiet northwest — about an hour and a quarter from Olbia airport and less from Alghero. From here, the best roads of the island start right outside the gate.
